Penguin Bloom Movie Lesson Plan helps teachers show students that we can always use our circumstances and our obstacles to become the best version of ourselves.

After completing Penguin Bloom Movie Lesson Plan, students will gain knowledge and clarity in overcoming obstacles, being a lighthouse, and enjoying the journey.

Samantha Bloom had to shift the plans for her life and her family after breaking her back while on vacation. Her entire life is turned upside down and she questions whether her life has any more value. With the help of her husband, her children, and an injured magpie the kids bring home, Sam is able to rise above her cloudy perspective and see that her life is not only beautiful but that she has the opportunity to share her gifts with the world

Penguin Bloom Movie Lesson Plan teaches us that no matter what happens to us, we can respond by writing our own story to help others and make a positive difference in the world.

In order to complete these activities, students will need to watch the movie Penguin Bloom, which has a rating of PG-13 and a run time of 1 hour and 35 minutes.

Each of our Leadership at the Movies lesson plans includes the following activities:

✅ Reflection: allows students to journal about one of the movie’s themes prior to watching.

✅ Analysis: questions and prompts to analyze the characters, plot, and climax of the movie.

✅ Practice & Discussion: a partner/group activity that takes the principles of the movie and asks students to take action and grow in their own lives.

✅ Extension: a RAFT (Role-Audience-Format-Topic) writing prompt to help students apply their new knowledge.

✅ Lead for Impact: challenges students to pinpoint how the hero of the story exhibited The 12 Fundamentals of Impact and then synthesize how they can apply the lessons to writing their own story.

WARNING: This is a DEEP LEARNING lesson plan to help students employ a LEADERSHIP approach to SOCIAL & EMOTIONAL LEARNING.
