Without Limits Movie Lesson Plan helps teachers share the story of one of the world’s greatest runners and how much he was willing to sacrifice to be the best.

After completing Without Limits Movie Lesson Plan, students will have a stronger understanding of seeking excellence, growing characters skills, and focusing on fulfillment.

Do you believe that you can accomplish anything and there are no limits to the goals you set?

Steve Prefontaine was a running phenom who took the country by storm when he attended the University of Oregon on a track scholarship. Driven to take his achievements to new heights, he set his sights on Olympic gold in the 1972 Munich Olympic games. We see that Steve’s talent and drive sometimes brought him into conflict with the people closest to him, but his tragic death stripped the world of seeing what he was truly capable of.

Without Limits Movie Lesson Plan teaches us that believing in ourselves can be a powerful force to help us reach our full potential. But even our talents and gifts can sometimes be a heavy burden when we fail to live up to expectations.

In order to complete these activities, students will need to watch the movie Without Limits, which has a rating of PG-13 (brief sexual material and brief strong language) and a run time of 1 hour and 58 minutes.

Each of our Leadership at the Movies lesson plans includes the following activities:

✅ Reflection: allows students to journal about one of the movie’s themes prior to watching.

✅ Analysis: questions and prompts to analyze the characters, plot, and climax of the movie.

✅ Practice & Discussion: a partner/group activity that takes the principles of the movie and asks students to take action and grow in their own lives.

✅ Extension: a RAFT (Role-Audience-Format-Topic) writing prompt to help students apply their new knowledge.

✅ Lead for Impact: challenges students to pinpoint how the hero of the story exhibited The 12 Fundamentals of Impact and then synthesize how they can apply the lessons to writing their own story.

WARNING: This is a DEEP LEARNING lesson plan to help students employ a LEADERSHIP approach to SOCIAL & EMOTIONAL LEARNING.
